Tim Smith

Tim Smith’s resounding saxophone, lyrical flute and expressive voice have been heard and felt world-wide for more than four decades. A phenomenal performer and powerful songwriter, Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Saxophone Performance from Oberlin Conservatory in 1992. 

Performance highlights include artists such as The Squirrel Nut Zippers, Hobex, Chris Stamey, Jazz Squad, Doug Largent Trio, Mr Potatohead, Sol and Funk Root, Countdown Quartet, Orquesta GarDel, Swing Street Band, Boulevard Ensemble, Mr. Coffee and The Creamers, The Beast Big Band, Carolina Moondogs, Raleigh Jazz Orchestra, his own Tim Smith Band and many more. Smith has toured regionally, nationally and internationally; made television appearances on Conan O'Brian, Regis & Kathy Lee, Sesame Street, and Raleigh NC's own Public TV; and continues his effort to make music and spread joy in the Carolinas today.
