Limitless Movement is a method which erases the certain thickness of a dance “shape” and focuses on the “intention” of that shape. If that intention is zoomed in, you have the time, space and courage to explore a certain shape because it’s not a border anymore. After exploring, we bring the zoomed-in intention to the shape and become a “shapeless shape”.
During the class we will explore elements of West and South African, Afro-Cuban folklore and contemporary, Mambo, Son Chachacha, Contemporary (with Graham Technique exercises).
Mitchell Provence, a dancer, mover, choreographer and visionary is just simply obsessed with the interconnections between music and movement. Born in Curacao, his passion for dance developed in his early 20s, and it took him on a journey around the world. He has taught and performed in over 40+ countries, collaborating with many performing artists such as: Monica Melito ( Studio Owner U-Dance, Mitchell & Monica), Sekou McMiller (resident teacher & choreographer at the Ailey Extension, NYC), Melissa Rosado (mambo dancer and teacher, NYC), Carla Voconi (mambo dancer & teacher, Rome) and has a current collaboration with Sarah Balzat (perfoming artist, teacher, community leader, Berlin Germany).
Through his journey, Mitchell has developed a method that focuses on helping students accepting both their artistic and personal identity.
His Mantra: move and embrace…
